Smoked Salmon Canapes with Whipped Cream Cheese and Capers

Smoked salmon is a preparation of salmon. Typically a fillet that has been cured and hot or cold smoked. Smoked Salmon is a popular ingredient in canapes often combine with cream cheese and capers. Smoked salmon is considered a delicacy.

In Europe the smoked salmon is often used in pates, quiches and pasta sauces. It’s very popular to serve slices of smoked salmon with some kind of bread and condiments.

In New York smoked salmon is served on bagel and it became an establishment in the Big Apple. Also, you will find that the smoked salmon has been used in sushi roll in U.S. Smoked Salmon is very popular and used to create different tasteful dishes.

I’ve always loved Smoked Salmon. I like the perfect blend of smoky and salty flavors. Combine that with whipped cream cheese, capers and caviar and you have the ultimate and elegant little bites you’ve seen in gala dinners or expensive weddings. So, today I am sharing with you my elegant take on smoked salmon canape with whipped cream cheese and capers. They are the perfect elegant small bites for weddings, baby showers, birthday parties or just when you want to impress your friends.

You Need:

Ingredients: Amount:
Whipped Cream Cheese. 6 oz(soft).
Smoked Salmon. 6 oz.
Lemon Juice and Zest. 1.
Salt. To taste.
Fresh Dill. 1 1/2 tbsp.
Capers. 2 tbsp.
Caviar (optional) . 4-5 tbsp.
Cucumber. 1/2 sliced thin.


In small bowl add the soft cream cheese, 2 tbs. lemon zest and lemon juice, salt, capers and chopped dill. Combine carefully with a mixer and leave it a side. Meanwhile, get a small piece of the Smoked Salmon at a time and fold it with your fingers in a small tube like form, and put it in a plate. Continue doing this until all the salmon is gone. Working with one smoked salmon tube at a time, fill them with the cream cheese mixture. I find it easier to do that with a small spoon. Finish filling the smoked salmon tubes with the whipped cream mixture and carefully put them in a serving platter.

Garnish with thin slices of cucumber and top with caviar (optional). Sprinkle some fresh chopped dill, and voila, you have an elegant canape ready to impress everyone.

The only thing you need is a nice chilled bottle of champagne.
