Instructions:
You can buy corn tortillas or you can make corn tortillas from scratch. If you are making corn tortillas, make your chips fun and colorful by adding food coloring to the dough.

Frying:
This is the tastiest but not necessarily the healthiest way to cook the tortilla chips. To fry tortilla chips heat 1-inch of peanut oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat to 350 degrees F.
Arrange the tortillas in a stack and cut into equal wedges like a pizza. Fry a few chips at a time, turning occasionally with a slotted spoon, until crisp and lightly browned, about 1 minute or less. Drain chips on a paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
Baking:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut the tortillas into equal wedges. Place the cut tortillas in a large bowl and drizzle some oil. Gently toss the tortilla pieces in the oil until they’re all lightly coated. Spread the chips out in a single layer on large baking sheet and season with salt. Bake until lightly browned and crisp about 12 to 15 minutes. Gently stir and flip the chips to insure even cooking.
Microwave:
This is the fastest way to prepare tortilla chips. It only takes a few minutes. Leave tortillas whole, cut in half or quarter. Put in microwave safe dish and microwave for 1 minute. Turn tortillas over and microwave for another minute until lightly brown. Sometimes it takes 15-20 sec. after the tortillas come out of the microwave to fully crisp. Also note, that the cooking time vary. Adjusting cooking time based on microwave wattage.
Enjoy the tortilla chips with salt or your favorite seasoning!
